Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

Metromont offers a Health Savings Account (HSA) through HSA Bank that allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction to pay for certain qualified healthcare expenses that are not paid by any health care plan.  You are responsible for managing the funds in your account and ensuring that the expenses you pay for with funds from the account are qualified healthcare expenses.  In order to open a HSA, you must be a participant in a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) medical plan.

Each year, the IRS determines the maximum amount that you can contribute in these accounts.  For 2019, the maximum contribution for employee-only is $3,550 a year and $7,100 for family coverage, less any employer contribution to your account.  (Family coverage is defined as any coverage level of employee + 1.)

Metromont will make a contribution up to $500 per year to your HSA based on your participation and compliance with the Right-on-Target, or Vitality wellness programs.  Please see your Human Resources representative for details. 

Please go online to register your account. You can elect to receive online statements for free. However, paper statements will cost $ .75 per month. To avoid this fee please elect to receive online statements as soon as possible.
